Q&A with Orlando Lovejoy (2022)
You may not know who Orlando Lovejoy is now, but there’s a good chance that you will a year from now. Lovejoy dominated the middle school circuit in the winter. Since the high school season ended, Lovejoy has been competing with his program’s, The Squad, 14U, 15U, and 16U teams. He is a strong shooter and a solid facilitator. Lovejoy showed those attributes this past weekend at the Michigan Invitational. Watch out for him next week at the Grand Rapids Storm Classic. Learn more about the young prospect who’s up next below:
Question: What are the biggest strengths of your game?
Orlando Lovejoy: I think the biggest strengths of my game is being aggressive on both ends of the court and my long range shooting.
Question: What do you need to improve on the most to take your game to the next level?
Orlando Lovejoy: I need to be able to lead my team more and have them trust in me more.
Question: What sets you apart from your competitors?
Orlando Lovejoy: All my different skills. I can do everything where as my opponents could only do a couple.
Question: What are you most looking forward to about this AAU season? Why?
Orlando Lovejoy: I’m looking forward to traveling and playing the best from around the country and showing what myself and my team can do.
Question: What is your dream school?
Orlando Lovejoy: Duke.
Question: What is your favorite class in school?
Orlando Lovejoy: Social Studies.
Question: What do you want to major in?
Orlando Lovejoy: Pre-law.
Question: What is a short term goal you have?
Orlando Lovejoy: To be an impactful freshman.
Question: What is a long term goal you have?
Orlando Lovejoy: To have multiple college offers.
Question: Which college or NBA player do you consider your game most similar to? Why?
Orlando Lovejoy: Kyrie Irving because of my ball handling and my unpredictable scoring.
