Explosive Athletes at the Prep Hoops Route 66
Saturday featured some high flyers at Santa Fe Life Center and Solid Rock. In this article, I break down the most explosive players that I scouted below!
Isaiah Lewis 2019 YGC 36 Wing
Lewis is the most explosive athlete at the Prep Hoops Route 66 Tournament this weekend. He delivered multiple monster jams that left the crowd in awe. If Lewis is in range of dunking the basketball he is going to get the job done. The way Lewis attacks the rim so strong will stick out to coaches. He is a sure-fire NCAA Division I athlete.
Antonio Gordon 2019 Oklahoma Wolfpack Post
Gordon is a stretch four with great athleticism. At 6’8 when Gordon drives to the rim he can lift off in a seconds notice. He brings a powerful punch when he attacks the rim. Gordon is a rising projected NCAA Division I prospect.
Paul Otieno 2020 KC Pacers Blue 16U Post
Otieno is very comfortable at 6’6 in the paint. He posted bask to back great games on the low block scoring 20+ in both. Otieno plays with a lot of crafty moves in the paint to help him score. He finishes strong with the explosion he plays with off the ground. He hammered down a few jams. The dunks are fun to watch, but Otieno’s explosiveness that helps him finish strong is what makes him such an outstanding offensive talent.
Shawn Warrior 2020 Kansas Pray N Play Combo Guard
Warrior nearly had some good explosive dunks on Saturday morning. He is exciting and fun to watch because of his burst and athleticism. Warrior scored the basketball best driving to the rim.
Cobe Williams 2019 Dallas Showtyme Guard
Williams is a little guy that won’t wow you with dunks. However, Williams uses his explosiveness to get to the rim quickly rising up to finish strong around the rim. He has been one of the best finishers in the tournament so far.
Devin Carter 2020 Colorado Hawks Nation
The surprise of the morning was Carter because he doesn’t really have the look physically. He lit the gym up on Saturday morning with several rim-rattling dunks. Carter had some of the best hops I have seen so far at the tournament.
