Icebreaker 2018 : Under the Radar Georgia Prospects
Prep Hoops SC took in the action this past weekend at the 2018 Icebreaker in North Augusta, SC. Lets take a look at some players we saw play from the Peach State that could be considered Under the Radar type of guys.
Bright Iheanachor (2019) – Solid Rock Christian Academy (Fayetteville) – Team Power
Iheanachor 6’9 was all over the floor with his activity. Iheanachor scored 11 points vs the Georgia Stars. Iheanachor runs the floor very well and has great bounce and springs. Iheanchor has a long wing span and he stayed very active in the passing lanes. Iheanachor is originally from Nigeria, Africa.
Jarvis Washington (2019) – Laney HS (Augusta) – Upward Stars Riverfront
Washington was the table setter at point guard for Upward Stars Riverfront. Washington wasn’t flashy at all but didn’t turn the ball over and played with some great toughness and grit. Washington led Laney HS to the Final 4 in 2A this season. Washington made heady plays all day long for his squad and dove on the floor on several occasions.
Quincy Olivari (2019) – Westlake HS – ATL Hoops
Olivari was a bit of a volume shooter today for his squad. Olivari seemed to be more comfortable from the behind the 3 point line. Olivari took some challenging shots and made some in return today. Olivari has great elevation on his shot.
Olivari has good explosion to the rim but seems to play better off the ball. Olivari wasn’t afraid to pull-up from 25 feet and let it fly. Olivari finished with 21 points vs Upward Stars Riverfront.
Tre Whitehead (2020) – Glenn Hills HS (Augusta) – Carolina Wolves 16
Whitehead is a run and jump athlete that really likes to get out in transition. Whitehead 6’5 plays with a very aggressive and physical toughness on the floor. Whitehead has the ability to slash to the cup or pop a perimeter jumper from 15-17 feet. Whitehead at times today defended a post player in the paint. Whitehead played AAU last summer with the Southern Stampede.
