Recruiting Report: Perry Cowan (2019)
DePaul Prep 2019 shooting guard Perry Cowan had an excellent weekend to open up the spring at Swish N Dish! The Illinois Wolves wing who is a top 10 prospect in the PHI 2019 Rankings has entered this spring with a more aggressive mindset and it showed. He was flying in from the perimeter to grab offensive rebounds. He hit some jumpers from mid-range which is an area he excels, but he wasn’t settling for it. Scored in the lane on tough takes more that hanging out on the perimeter. Cowan established himself as a no brainer at the mid-major level.
Cowan elevated his game as a junior.
“My high school season went good. Shot got better and I think I played more lose.”
Where does he feel he improved the most as a player?
“My jump shot, ball handling, guarding, getting my teammates involved, and finishing.”
He will play with the Illinois Wolves once again on the UAA circuit and is excited about the opportunity.
“Getting better and playing against great competition. Beating good players you hear all the time.”
Where do things stand with recruiting?
“Nothing much right now. Penn called the other day. I am still getting recruited from Loyola.”
