Recruiting Report: Noah Freidel (2019)
Six-foot-4 junior wing Noah Freidel continues to make his mark in South Dakota. An all state player as a junior at Tea Area High School, Noah is now ready for his final AAU year and has schools ready to follow him consistently .
This year Noah scored 27.4 points per game for his 19-6 second place Class A finisher. Noah scored on 48 percent of his field goals and was a 38-39 percent shooter at the arc. He did this while dealing with a leg injury (and a lot of defensive attention) but Noah is not the type of guy that would ever make an excuse. He’s all about the team.
“Things went good, the goal all year was to get a chance to defend our state championship and we had a lot of ups and downs in the season but we did get that opportunity, just couldn’t get the job done,” Freidel said about the year.
Noah had 25 points in the title game and at times carried his team through rough spots when the Titans couldn’t create some offense. It was a sign of the maturity that Noah showed all year.
“Being a upperclassmen this year I had to improve on my leadership and maturity on the court if we wanted to have success,’ Noah said.
Noah is now ready to play with the South Dakota Attack, a team that has regular success for several seasons. The team looks even better this year with a long list of talent that has played together for several years (most of the players).
“I am playing with the 17u Attack and the team looks really good,” Noah said. “We got Sawyer Schultz, Mitchell Goodbary, Gavin Schipper, Luke Ronsiek, Drew Cole, Camden Bialas, Tucker West and two kids from Iowa. We should be a solid team.”
Freidel has scholarship offers from Minnesota State-Moorhead, Sioux Falls, Augustana, and Northern State plus he’s had some conversations with South Dakota and South Dakota State.
“Most of the D2 schools around here (are showing strong interest) and also from some of the D1’s in the area,” Noah said.
