2020 Potential Spring Stock Risers
High school season has been in the books for a few weeks now and AAU tournaments are already underway here in Florida.
Here is a look at 10 prospects in the 2020 class that could see their stocks rise here this spring.
ICYMI:
Milos Merrick (IMG)
Currently, the IMG guard, Milos Merrick is a natural leader at his 6’3″ size. Merrick has all the tools to be a legitimate prospect. He is suiting up for Team Under Pressure this summer and I fully expect him to take advantage of his floor general role.
Jake Brazinski (Newsome)
A pure shooter, Jake Brazinski has been able to make an impact for two high school seasons already. The 6’2″ guard is good from outside but certainly has room to boost his stock with more attacks to the rim. He will play once again for E1T1.
Ronnie Williams (Clearwater Central Catholic)
Injured for a good portion of his sophomore season, Ronnie Williams is an emerging talent in the Tampa area. The 6’4″ guard/forward has a nice mid-range touch and seems to always make plays on his own. He’ll suit up for Team Speights this summer.
Kobe Knox (Tampa Catholic)
After getting his feet wet on varsity as a freshman alongside his older brother, Kentucky forward Kevin Knox, Kobe Knox grew up for Tampa Catholic this season. He’s grown to 6’2″ and has taken the game seriously. Known for his outside touch, Knox is not done growing and not done getting better. He’ll play for E1T1 this summer.
Lynn Kidd (The Rock)
Lynn Kidd was a starter for the SIAA champions. The 6’8″ big man had some very bright moments for The Rock this season and I fully expect him to take the next step forward as an aggressor this summer with Nike Team Florida.
Jalen Speer (P.K. Yonge)
It was an impressive state tournament for Jalen Speer. The 6’0″ guard routinely hit important jumpers for P.K. Yonge and made the most of his time on the floor. Speer should be able to carry that momentum into the summer.
Jordan Sears (Atlantic)
Undersized and determined at 5’5″, Jordan Sears has never cared about his smaller frame. His burst, ball handling and determination help him get by defenders routinely. The Atlantic point guard will play this summer again for Team CP25.
Dionte Blanch (East Lake)
Someone who has raised his stock just over the last few months is Dionte Blanch. The 6’2″ athlete is a slasher who is still working on his jumper, but Blanch has endless bounce that he uses to his advantage. Blanch is someone who plays with so much energy.
Keon Buckley (Lakewood Ranch)
One of the politest kids that I’ve ever talked to, Keon Buckley took his game to the next level this season. For Lakewood Ranch, the 6’0″ point guard is a reliable shooter, passer and floor stretcher. He’ll play for SEBA this summer.
Crisnel Francois (Suncoast)
Strong and tough are just two words that describe the game of Crisnel Francois. The 6’2″ Suncoast guard has been a consistent scorer for his high school team. For Nike Team Florida, a team he played with last summer, Francois should be able to make his presence known.
