2017-18 Player of the Year
Over the course of the high school season we have held a vote monthly in order to name Player of the Month. With the 2017-2018 season coming to a close, we held another vote for Player of the Year. Below are all Honorable Mentions plus the voting results for Player of the Year.

Honorable Mention
These are any players that received nominations or were among the players voted on for Player of the Month, but didn’t make the final vote.
Harlond Beverly (2019, SG, Southfield Christian): Beverly is one of the top 2018 shooting guards in the country.
Marcus Bingham (2018, F, Grand Rapids Catholic Central): The MSU commit has a unique blend of size and skills.
Quinn Blair (2018, SF, Divine Child): William & Mary will be getting a leader who can score in a variety of ways.
Gabe Brown (2018, SF, Belleville): The MSU commit is a long athlete that can score from anywhere.
Wendell Green Jr. (2020, PG, Detroit Country Day): Green is a highlight reel point guard who can make the passes that most can’t.
Markeese Hastings (2018, F, Godwin Heights): The defensive minded athlete has a very high ceiling.
Carlos Johnson (2020, F, Benton Harbor): He’s a high energy player who can dominate a game.
Lamar Norman (2018, SG, Godwin Heights): Norman is one of the top pure athletes around.
Jalen Terry (2020, PG, Flint Beecher): Terry is one of the most skilled young point guards in the country.
Rocket Watts (2019, G, Old Redford): Watts is an explosive shooter with unlimited range. He can singlehandedly light up a scoreboard.
Romeo Weems (2019, SF, New Haven): Weems can quite simply do it all. He has all the makings of a star at every level.
Rashad Williams (2018, G, Wayne Memorial): Cleveland State will be getting the best pure shooter in Michigan.
Trevion Williams (2018, C , Henry Ford Academy): The Purdue commit is a versatile big who is a beast in the post but can also put the ball on the floor.
4th Place
Brandon Johns (2018, F, East Lansing)
Johns finished with 8% of the vote. He has a unique blend of size and skills. The University of Michigan commit is a physical specimen that can play anywhere on the court. Johns had dominant season in which he averaged over 30 points.
3rd Place
David DeJulius (2018, PG, East English)
DeJulius finished with 20% of the final vote. The University of Michigan commit won the voting for December and January Player of the Month. He’s a hard nosed, tough point guard who can play through contact. DeJulius is the type of leader that every coach dreams of having.
2nd Place
Brandon Wade (2018, PG, Skyline)
Wade finished with 27% of the Player of the Year vote. He will go down as one of the greatest Ann Arbor area players of Lloyd time. The Duquesne commit led Skyline to an unprecedented 26-1 season. Wade can get hot from three point range and is excellent at driving the lane and finishing or dishing off to an open teammate. He’s a team first player who’s willing to contribute in whatever way is needed to get a win.
1st Place
Foster Loyer (2018, PG, Clarkston)
Loyer picked up 45% of the final vote. He has cemented himself into the Michigan high school basketball history books by leading Clarkston to back-to-back state championships. Loyer scored 82 combined in the semifinals and state championship game. He is now Clarkston’s All-Time leading scorer. Loyer is a threat to score from anywhere on the court. The MSU commit was the most efficient point guard in Michigan and is a true floor general and leader.
