Who Took Home The Hardware? Fab 40 Award Winners
Another year and another great opportunity for players for the Eastern side of the state to participate in the Basketball Elite Fab 40 Camp. So what team won the camp championship? Who won the 3 point contest? Last but not least of course, who won the illustrious Camp MVP award, well sit back and relax because we are definitely going to give you a quick recap of what went on.
3 Point Contest Champ: Dylan Blake of First Flight HS, coming into the event he was the early favorite to win this contest. If you have had the opportunity to watch his high school team play over the past two years then this shouldn’t be much of a surprise to you. Dylan is the leader on a team that shoots a very high amount of treys and plays an up-tempo style of game, so we knew he would do well. In the first round he knocked down 12 out 15 three point shots and in the championship round he made 3 out 5 to take home the 3 Point Championship Award.
Camp MVP Award: Deantre Harvey of Western Alamance, out of all the players that were in attendance he was probably the player that lived the furthest west out of anyone. However he didn’t allow that to stop what he planned to do and he was very successful throughout the day, shooting a high percentage and making plays all over the floor. At 6’4 with a solid frame and nice versatility, he has a lot of the things that college coaches want to see in a Guard/Forward prospect.
Camp Champs: Team “They Got Game’’ took home the hardware as they went 3-0 on the day and had to come back in multiple games to get the win. This team didn’t have the most height but played with a very high amount of intensity and as the day went on they only got better, congrats to these youngsters and Coach Alex Harris!
