2021 Stock Risers from BTR Main Event
The 15U Tournament at BTR Main Event had a few of the better teams in Oklahoma featured this weekend. TMT made a huge statement knocking off a talented PWP squad in the championship. Prep Hoops Oklahoma gives the scouting report on the players we had the chance to watch in the 2021 Class. For most of the 2021 Oklahoma Class, it is way too early to project them to college.
Isaiah Sanders TMT 2021 Guard
Sanders was excellent this weekend for TMT providing them with great scoring outbursts. When TMT needed key baskets down the stretch in bracket play Sanders hit them. He was one of the better shooters in the 15U age group this weekend.
Tezohn Taft TMT 2021 Guard
Taft was the MVP this weekend in the 15U age group showing a ton of promise. Opponents threw many different defenders at him with little luck of slowing him down. Taft is an explosive Guard with good strength and athleticism. I loved the way he attacked the basket fearlessly this weekend.
Darius Moore Next Level Show 2021 Wing
Moore was the most productive guy for Next Level Show this weekend scoring double figures in each game. What makes him stand out more than his scoring is his overall game being able to have three double-doubles this weekend. Moore is the biggest guy on the team, which speaks to his versatility on defense being able to guard 1-5.
Jackson Jordan Next Level Show 2021 Guard
Jordan put the ball in the hoop consistently from all three levels. He was one of the top scorers in the tournament this weekend with his sharpshooting skills and ability to get to the basket.
Raul Nunez Next Level Show 2021 Wing
Nunez might have the best upside of any player at Next Level Show with his frame and skill set. He was very consistent on both ends of the floor. Each game Nunez drew the best defender from the opposing team, but still was able to have success and make others around him better. Nunez also killed the boards averaging double digits this weekend.
Christian Prayer Gym Time Hoops 2021 6’7 Forward
He is a raw talent at the 4 spot that could be lethal when he finishes out his high school career. Gym Time Hoops used him primarily to get bully baskets inside. He played with lots of energy rebounding the ball well. He has great hops and good strength for his age.
Tyler Pinder Gym Time Hoops 2021 Point Guard
Pinder has a sharp handle on the rock allowing him to create offense off the bounce. This weekend Pinder and the Gym Time Hoops 15U squad played up at the 16U level. Pinder got himself going by creating for others and letting the game come to him. What surprised me was that as talented of a player as Pinder is he never forced shots. He is tough to defend because he can pull up at a moments notice and find the bottom of the net. Pinder will be a fun 2021 prospect to watch over the next few years.
James Brown Gym Time Hoops 2021 Point Guard
Brown is coming off a good first high school season at Muskogee. He brought the same toughness and smart basketball plays with him to Gym Time Hoops in the first tournament of the year. Brown is a small guy on the court with good physical strength. He moves the ball well and seems to always make the perfect extra pass.
Tobias Roland OK Run PWP 2021 Wing
Roland brought his A game to the floor on Saturday afternoon when I saw him. He has clearly been working hard in the gym with his head coach at OK Run PWP Jermaine Simpson on ball handling and jump shooting. Roland still has room to grow, but showed clear improvement being able to create his own jumper, and hit it consistently. As usual, Roland was a force on the defensive end blocking and adjusting shots. He plays with a fearless mentality.
Kole Johnson Top Notch 2021 Point Guard
Johnson plays with a swagger about his game and for good reason. Despite being undersized he overcomes his height with heart, toughness, and a nice smooth skill set. He handles the rock well keeping a low dribble and using his quickness to create. When he was at his best he was getting to the rim and finishing through traffic. He is guy early to watch and see how he develops.
Makale Smith OK Run PWP 2021 Point Guard
Smith is a player who could be a prospect that starts to blossom this summer with OK Run PWP. He scored the ball well at all three levels. What I love about Smith is all of the intangibles in his game. He plays unselfishly seeing the entire floor. Defensively, Smith is flying around with energy trying to disrupt the opponent.
Anthony Pritchard OK Run PWP 2021 Point Guard
Pritchard had one of the best freshman years of any prospect in Oklahoma. This summer is his chance to continue his success with OK Run PWP. He shot the ball well from three-point range and also mixed it up with a nice change of pace with the ball in his hands. The handle of Pritchard allows him to get to just about anywhere on the floor that he wants to.The biggest thing that will instantly stick out to coaches will be the intensity Pritchard plays with at all times.
Elijah Wilder OK Run PWP 2021 Forward
Wilder is a strong big that created problems for opponents using his 6’4 strong frame. He is raw offensively. This summer he will have a chance to improve his offense while continuing to provide OK Run PWP with good size and rebounding.
TJ Todd OK Run PWP 2021 Wing
Todd was solid spotting up from behind the arc for OK Run PWP. He gives PWP size plus a knockdown shooting from the outside. Every good team needs a shooter that will hustle on both ends, Todd provides those. He is an emerging prospect out of Sulphur to keep an eye out for this summer.
Ethan Ganaway Oklahoma Empire 2021 Wing
He rebounded the ball extremely well using attention to detail. Ganaway is not the biggest guy on the court but makes the hustle plays for his squad. As the game continued he got going scoring by getting to the rim. He projects to the small college level.
Jade Watkins Oklahoma Empire 2021 Forward
He is a strong Forward that can bang in the paint giving opponents trouble because of his size. It was not his best showing however you can see flashes in his game. Wakins was effective rebounding the basketball and battling on the boards. He projects to the small college level.
Vernon Durant Pro Skills OK 2021 Wing/Forward
He had himself a day showing the ability to score and defend. The long, lanky frame of Durant is very intriguing. When Pro Skills got him the ball he was able to create his own shot or score off a solid handle. He will be a prospect to watch the progress. It is too early to project his game to the next level.
Kobey Stephens Pro Skills OK 2021 Point Guard
Stephens provides Pro Skills Oklahoma with steady play from the Point Guard spot. He can shoot the rock or take his opponent and beat them off the dribble with his quickness. Stephens is a small school Oklahoma high school basketball star at Wewoka that will benefit greatly from the exposure he garners this summer with Pro Skills OK.
Aiden Walker Pro Skills OK 2021 Wing
He brings great energy and intensity to the floor. What made him stand out was his ability to finish in traffic at the rim. The aggressiveness he brings to the table mixed with his physical traits makes him tough to defend. Williams was also a monster on the boards.
Jaden Bray Pro Skills OK 2021 Combo Guard (15U)
Bray is a strong, 6’2 physical Guard that impressed with his skill level and hustle. He brought his A game making his teammates around him better with crisp passes for open looks at the basket. Bray was a defensive pest coming up with multiple steals in each game I watched him play. He has a lot of upside to his game. The biggest thing that sticks out about him is he is fearless.
