Class of 2018 All-State Team
As the season comes to an end it’s time to take a look at All-State selections. The class of 2018 is one of the deepest and most talented that Michigan has seen. The following is an All-State list with exclusively seniors.
Class of 2018 All-State
1st Team
G: Foster Loyer (PG, Clarkston)
Loyer is the leader of a Clarkston team that is two wins away from defending their state championship. The MSU commit is averaging 26ppg and shooting 47% from three point range. He can score in a multitude of fashions and is efficient as they come.
G: David DeJulius (PG, EEVP)
DeJulius is explosive and dynamic. The UofM commit can light up a scoreboard and can get his points from anywhere. He is relentless when attacking the rim. DeJulius is shifty, has great feet, and is the type of leader that teammates get behind.
F: Gabe Brown (SF, Belleville)
Brown is a tall and lanky athlete who can get buckets at all three levels. He is a high energy player who is in go-mode at all times. The MSU commit simply loves the game of basketball and it was shown in his team’s run to the Class A quarterfinals.
F: Brandon Johns (PF, East Lansing)
Johns may be the most physically gifted athlete in Michigan. He has the size and skills to play in the post and attack from the perimeter. The UofM commit led his East Lansing squad to the quarterfinals this season.
C: Trevion Williams (C, Henry Ford Academy)
Williams is a special talent. He is a living breathing double-double who can simply take over the stat sheet. As big and as strong as Williams is, he can still put the ball on the floor. The Purdue commit had a miraculous high school career.
2nd Team
G: Brandon Wade (PG, Skyline)
Wade is a prolific player who is considered one of the best to ever come from the Ann Arbor area. He can shoot from three and get the ball in the paint for a floater or dish to a teammate. The Duquesne commit led Skyline to a 26-1 record.
G: Lamar Norman (SG, Godwin Heights)
Norman is an elite athlete. He attacks the bucket and finishes with the best of them. Norman was a walking highlight reel this season. Norman is fast, explosive, and can play above the rim.
G: Rashad Williams (G, Wayne Memorial)
Williams might be the best pure shooter in Michigan. He can light up the scoreboard but is also a plus on the defensive end. The Cleveland State commit can always be counted on to perform in big moments. He led his team to the Regional Championship game this year.
F: Marcus Bingham (F, Grand Rapids Catholic Central)
Bingham is developing into a top player nationally. He is long and uses it to be active on the glass. The MSU commit moves very well for his size and can score from the outside as well.
F: Taylor Currie (C, Clarkston)
Currie is the type of player who can always be counted on. He is averaging over 13ppg and 7rpg. The Wisconsin commit has his team in the Class A Final 4. He’s a relentless defender who always tries to outhustle his opponent.
3rd Team
G: Bryce Washington (G, Southfield Christian)
The leader and scorer recently became the All-Time leading scorer at Southfield Christian.
G: Traveon Maddox (SG, Novi)
The Oakland University commit has Novi in the Class A Final 4. He can score at all three levels and is a very good athlete.
F: Quinn Blair (SF, Divine Child)
The William and Mary commit is an athlete who can score from anywhere. He is a high IQ player who has shown steady improvement over the years.
F: Markeese Hastings (F, Godwin Heights)
He is committed to Butler and is a versatile do-it-all type player. He can put the ball on the floor, finish at the rim, and is an elite defender.
C: Deante Johnson (C, DEPSA)
Johnson is a long athlete who can handle the ball very well for a big. The Cleveland State commit is a hustle player who can defend in the paint or on the perimeter.
