Roster Breakdown: This team has an interesting makeup. You have guards that can shoot from deep, you have a few wings who can drive the ball, and you have a few guys that can play inside. All of these guys are very versatile and can play multiple positions. That gives Marlin a ton of different ways that he can play. He can either go big or small and not lose any scoring. This is a team that while doesn’t have any huge names from the Indianapolis area, but could be very good.
Guy You Have To Watch: Nate Childress (Zionsville)
Childress is a growing guy on the wing for Zionsville. He is really versatile and plays with a ton of energy. He brings it on both sides of the floor as he uses his motor to get after guys and grab rebounds and uses his strength to finish at the rim. Loves to slash for the ball and is beginning to be able to stretch it out a little bit. A solid all-around player.
Best Bet To End Up Breaking Out: Justin Hensley (Cathedral)
Hensley is a guy I saw earlier this year in Cathedral’s scrimmage and he went something like 6-of-8 from deep. He was kind of buried in the rotation playing on a team like Cathedral this past year. I think he’s going to take a huge step forward this summer and showcase his ability to do more than just shoot the ball. He should really turn some heads this summer.
Who Should Be Watching: D2-NAIA
While the overall ability of everyone on this team is really good, I don’t think anyone at this point has the ability to break up into the D1 discussion quite yet. There are a few D3 kids on this team but most are scholarship players. You have all types of guys on this team and each one will contribute at the next level in some capacity.
