Prospect Spotlight: Connor Woodward (2019)
Everyday before school starts Connor Woodward gets up several hundred shots. He starts at 6:00 a.m. and doesn’t leave until the ball’s gone through the net 300 times.
Needless to say, the a 5-foot-11 combo-guard from Hanford has the work-ethic necessary to succeed.
That’s just what he did this past season with the Falcons. Woodward admits that the season may not have gone how he wanted it to team-wise. But his 18.2 points per game were among the best in the area.
The junior guard says his strengths are shooting, scoring, free-throws, ball-handling, vision, energy, hustle and effort. He insists, though, on getting better every day.
“Our season didn’t go as good as we wanted,” said Woodward “I need to sharpen my leadership skills and blocking out every play”
This offseason his plans are to, you guessed it, get better. And he’s hoping his currently stagnant hoops recruitment can start to take shape over the next 12 months.
“My offseason plans are working out everyday in the mornings before school and after, and also in the summer,” said Woodward.
“Recruiting hasn’t been as active as I would like, the recruitment goals are just to get some offers.”
