2020 All-State Team
While there are a number of skilled prospects waiting their turn to take over and make an impact on the varsity level, the following 2020 prospects had huge seasons despite their youth. Their productivity was key to their team’s success this season. Further, they will play a pivotal role in the success of the team moving forward. Here is our 2020 All-State team:
2020 All-State: MVP
Mason Falslev 6’3 SG Sky View
While I anticipated that Falslev would have a huge season, he even exceeded my expectations. Falslev was a one man scoring machine who was not afraid to go toe to toe with the proverbial Goliaths despite his youth. Falslev is not afraid of the moment and will play a huge role in Sky View taking even bigger steps forward next season. Sky View has a bright future and this young man is worth watching.
2020 All-State: 1st Team
Derek Smith 6’0 PG Delta
Smith led Delta to a deep run in the state tournament with his strong play. While they fell short of the goal, Delta can rest peacefully knowing that Smith will be back the next couple of seasons. He is capable of scoring the basketball in an array of ways. Further, he understands how to get his teammates involved in spots where they can be successful. Delta will be one of the teams to beat in their classification next year. Further, Smith is prepared to be a player of the year candidate for that classification.
Andre Mulibea 6’5 PG/SG East
Mulibea might have the highest ceiling of any of the players on this list. He is one of the top point guards in the state and in this class. Further, due to his length, he is capable of playing multiple spots which makes him an intriguing prospect at the the next level and a nightmare at this one. Mulibea will be without a doubt the go to guy for East for the next couple of years.
Cameron Chism 6’1 PG/SG Bountiful
Chism and Bountiful set the 5A world afire with their unanticipated run to the final four. With Chism back, Bountiful will hope to expand on that strong run this upcoming season. Chism shot the lights out of the basketball this past season. As he continues to develop his game and become even more balanced, he will become an even bigger threat for Bountiful.
Ethan Langston 6’3 SG/SF Bingham
Langston had an all-round solid year for Bingham as he did well on the glass and scored the basketball well. Bingham should have ambitions of being even more stout next year. Further, Langston should be poised for a breakout season and an even bigger role. His strong play in his tough region demonstrates that he is not afraid to compete with the top prospects in the state despite being young.
Trevon Snoddy 6’4 SF/PF Skyridge
Snoddy led the team in points and rebounds despite only being a sophomore. His productivity was through the roof. Further, the team brings back a number of other talented underclassmen who will be even more prepared to play at the 5A level. With Snoddy leading the way, this team will be one of the most improved teams in 5A next season.
