Class AA All-State Team
This group of Class AA All-State players had great high school careers and several scored over a 1,000 points.
Player of the Year : Juwan Gary (2019) Gray Collegiate (pictured on the front)
Gary has plenty of recruitment heading his way for next season. Gary helped the War Eagles win their 1st State Championship for the school this past March. Gray scored 13 points in the 58-45 victory over Carvers Bay. Gary also went over 1,000 career points this season.
Trey Smith (2019) Landrum HS
Smith really filled it up this season and led the state in scoring at 28 ppg, 4.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 steals. Smith has scored 2,033 career points entering his senior season for the Cardinals. Smith a left-handed guard will play AAU this summer with the Mooresville Magic (NC).
Jalen Coit (2020) Cheraw HS
Coit is ranked #3 in the 2020 Palmetto State Class. Coit late in the season went over 1,000 career points. Coit averaged 22.9 ppg this season for the Braves (15-10). Just recently Head Coach Justin Johnson was relieved of his duties at the school. Coit a left-handed guard has scored 1,043 points entering his junior season.
Zam Fredrick (2018) Calhoun County (St Matthews)
Fredrick a deep range shooting guard off guard was named Region Player of the Year this season for the Saints. Fredrick has great bloodlines playing for his father and former Gamecock Zam Fredrick along with his older brother Zam “Buck”.
Dijon Goss (2018) Carvers Bay HS
Goss helped the Bears get to the 2A State Championship before falling to Gray Collegiate. Goss 6’5 averaged 14 ppg and 10 rebounds this season. Goss was a All-State selection in Football and Basketball this season.
Mikel Shuler (2018) Woodland HS
Shuler 5’4 is small in size and big in heart. Shuler scored 1,002 career points to close out his career after averaging 19.3 ppg this season.
Chris Paez (2018) Greenville Tech
Paez plays football at nearby Mauldin HS and basketball at Greenville Tech.
Matthew Kormylo (2019) Southside Christian (Greenville)
Kormylo filled it up all-season long for the Sabres. Kormylo averaged just over 26 ppg this season.
Darjawuan Brown (2020) North Charleston HS
Brown helped the Cougars (17-5) to a region championship this year. Brown averaged 19.5 ppg this season and scored 46 points vs Academic Magnet back on January 23, 2018.
Dillon Jones (2020) Keenan HS
Jones is ranked #2 in the 2020 Palmetto State Class behind Myles Tate.
Zach Johnson (2018) Saluda HS
Johnson will play in the North-South All Star Game this Saturday at Lexington HS. Johnson a very athletic combo forward averaged 14 ppg and 10 rebounds this season.
Desmond Tate (2019) Chesnee HS
Tate 5’10 guard will play AAU tis spring with the SC Spiders. Tate averaged 20.1 ppg and 10.5 rebounds this past season for the Eagles (10-13).
BJ Blue (2018) Marion HS
Blue helped the Swamp Foxes get to the Lower State Championship Game before being beat by region foe Carvers Bay. Blue a off guard averaged 17 ppg this season and has recorded 1010 SAT Score.
Bryson Rose (2018) Academic Magnet
Rose finished his Raptors career with 355 three pointers made. Rose finished his career 1,439 points. Rose made 123 three pointers during his junior season.
Foster Bridges (2018) Landrum HS
Bridges has played on the varsity since the 7th grade for the Cardinals. Bridges will play this weekend in the North-South All-Star Game at Lexington HS. Bridges averaged 18.5 ppg and 6 rebounds this past season for the Cardinals (21-5). Bridges finished his career with 1,680 points.
Shamar Matthews (2018) Andrews HS
Matthews had a surprising quiet season for the Yellow Jackets. Matthews will play in Swanny’s Unsigned Senior Event next weekend Sunday March 25 at Lakewood HS in Sumter, SC. Matthews a off guard scored 32 points vs Cathedral Academy at the Panther Holiday Classic. Matthews finished the season at 17.4 ppg.
