2020 All-State Team
A look at the North Carolina All-State team for the 2020 class by PrepHoopsNC.
Jalen ConeJalen Cone-The 5’9 point guard averaged the most points the state, and led his team to the second round of the NCHSAA playoffs this season. The ultra-athletic guard is one of the best in the state and on a national level recruiting wise. He is able to get to the rack at will and has highlight reel dunks in his repertoire.
Jaden Springer-The 6’3 guard for Rocky River HS had a season similar to Cone in surpassing all expectations of how far he could take his team. Springer helped lead Rocky River to the Western Regional finals (final four) of the NCHSAA state 4-A playoffs. Springer solidified his national recruiting ranking of a top 20 prospect and has improved on so much or the course of the season.
Day’Ron Sharpe-The 6’9 big man had a great sophomore season for South Central HS and helped South Central reach the Eastern Regional finals. He had UNC Head Coach Roy Williams and assistant Steve Robinson in to see him play in a first round game and has been hearing from Kentucky, NC State and other high-majors according to his coach Chris Cherry.
Justice Ajogbor-The 6’9 forward for Christ School continues to turn heads with his athleticism and raw basketball ability. He is a rebounding and dunking machine when he gets his hands on the ball in the paint. He is broad shouldered and is strong. Before his sophomore season even started, Ajogbor picked up offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Connecticut, Tennessee and Davidson. He helped Christ School reach the final four in the NCISAA 3-A tournament.
Camren Hayes-The sophomore point guard was the floor leader again this season for Greensboro’s Ben L. Smith HS and had a stellar season. He helped lead his team to the Western Regional finals of the NCHSAA finals in the 3-A division falling to eventual champion Cox Mill HS. He averaged nearly a double-double per game with his scoring at 10 points and assists around 7.
Callin Randolph-The sharpshooting Randolph had a super season for Mountain Heritage HS, one of the top teams regardless of class in the mountains. Randolph set the Mountain Heritage record for most three-pointers scored in a game and had a handful of games near the 30-point mark. The 5’10 guard should be getting some college looks this summer playing with Team Loaded NC 2020.
Justin Wright-The Farmville Central HS guard is one of the best guards in the state for one of the best teams in the state. Wright has taken off the baby weight and is now more athletic and can make plays that last year he couldn’t. He is a scorer that is a natural with the ball in his hands.
Dylan Blake-One of the best shooters in the state, the First Flight HS guard had some high scoring games this season. Dylan is known for his ability to shoot but has added multiple moves to his arsenal this off-season let everyone in the area know he has put in the work with his scoring totals this season.
JaJuan Carr-The Heide-Trask HS sophomore had one of the best seasons as anyone in the state. He has all the tools to be absolutely special, including being coachable and just an all-around great kid. Don’t be surprised if you see him show out this summer during the live periods and picks up some legit D1 college interest.
