Third-Team All-State Team/Honorable Mentions
Dorian Wilson (Wildwood)
Averaging 21.5 PPG, Wilson, a senior guard did more than enough to help Wildwood win a state title.
Sam Griffin (Westminster)
Griffin averaged 21 PPG contributing to his team’s second straight title. The junior is in line for the point guard role with Scott headed to FGCU.
Keon Ellis (Leesburg)
Ellis, a senior forward averaged 18.5 PPG to guide Leesburg to a second consecutive title. He flashed his athleticism on dunks, blocks and drives to the rack.
Michael Forrest (Blanche Ely)
A true senior leader, Forrest averaged 19.5 PPG a Blanche Ely squad that took home its third title in four years.
CJ Walker (Orlando Christian Prep)
It was an important performance from Walker, a junior forward who netted a team-best 14 points in the state final win over Canterbury.
Lance Erving (Leesburg)
A tough-minded junior guard, Erving played an essential role in helping his Yellow Jackets beat Booker 61-60 in the semifinal with his 28 points (13 in the second quarter alone).
Dudley Blackwell (Westminster)
Blackwell served as more than just a flashy dunker for Westminster this season. The sophomore guard/forward had a triple double in the semifinal, averaging 13 PPG, 11 RPG and 9.0 APG for the week.
Berrick Jeanlouis (Canterbury)
Averaging 17.5 PPG for the week, Jeanlouis was instrumental in getting Canterbury to the state title game.
Jose Placer (Master’s)
I’m not sure how people didn’t know who Placer was before this week. He averaged 20 PPG as Master’s reached the state championship, losing to a deep Westminster team.
Jonathan Nunez (Doral)
Averaging 11 PPG, Nunez, a junior guard was the floor general and vocal leader for a Doral team that won its first ever state championship.
