The Class 5A State Tournament gets underway tomorrow! Prep Hoops breaks down the player to watch on each squad!
Mason Harrell 2018 Carl Albert Point Guard
Harrell is the most productive player in Oklahoma. He puts on a show for everyone in the arena each night. There is not much Harrell cannot do as he dominates defenses scoring and creating for teammates. He can score at all three levels. Carl Albert had a tough setback in the Regional Championship, however, Harrell is the guy that can lead them through a tough bracket to the Class 5A State championship.
Issac Beverly 2018 Del City Wing
Beverly brings leadership and toughness to the floor for the Eagles. On the Wing, Beverly is physical which helps him to make it tough for opponents. The versatility of Beverly to play inside or out creates matchup problems. Beverly will be the key if Del City is to make a run in the Class 5A State Tournament!
Antonio Gordon 2019 Lawton Ike Forward
Gordon has improved his stock more than any other player in the state of Oklahoma with an outstanding showing. What makes Gordon so good is his height at 6’8 with athleticism and the ability stretch the floor with good three-point shooting. Gordon will be a handful for anyone who has to guard him.
Mo Wilson 2018 Northwest Classen Wing
Wilson has boosted his stock big time with a stellar senior season. Opponents will struggle to slow down Wilson because he does so many productive things on the court for Northwest Classen. As you can see in his section of the highlight Wilson blocks shots, finds open teammates, scores, and so much more.
Kalib Boone 2019 Tulsa Memorial Post
Boone is a monster in all facets of the game. Boone is one of the best players in the state and proves it on a nightly basis. On the defensive end, Boone is arguably the best rim protector in the state. Boone blocks shots and forcing the other team to shoot over him constantly. On the offensive end, Boone puts down some of the best dunks throughout the state and he has a solid jumper from mid-range. Boone attacks the basket for rebounds as well and comes away with a lot of second-chance points because of it.
Jaycson Bereal 2018 Booker T. Washington Forward
Bereal is a crowd pleaser. He is constantly putting on a show for whoever is in attendance. He is one of the most hyped up players in the state and his play on the court shows why. When Bereal goes one on one with someone it is hard to stop him. Booker T. has taken advantage of this and run him in iso sets. When Bereal attacks the basket, you can almost guarantee a bucket or free-throws. Bereal is fun to watch and will certainly put on a show at the state tournament.
Andrew Keathley 2019 Coweta Post
Keathley has been dominant for his Coweta team. The Tigers like to shoot a lot from the perimeter and Keathley dominates the boards. He gets the rebounds and gets a lot of his points off of second-chance opportunities. On the defensive end, Keathley uses his size to affect shots. He forces teams to shoot over him or get blocked. He will be vital if Coweta wants to pull off some upsets in the tournament.
Ryan Gendron 2018 Bishop Kelley Guard
Gendron is the star of Bishop Kelley. At any given point, Gendron can take over a game. He can hit contested three’s if needed or take the ball to the hoop. Gendron is fun to watch because of how hard he works on the court. Every time he steps on the court the effort is there. He is giving 110 percent all the time. The Comets will rely heavily on Gendron as he will carry the load for the underdogs.
