All League Team: Cincinnati Hills League
Were in the middle of an exciting post-season here in Ohio which can only mean one thing, time for post-season awards and honors. And we begin our list of award-winners with our All-League/Conference teams in the Cincinnati area. The Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) is the first league up, let the controversy begin!
First Team All CHL
G- Damani McEntire/Deer Park High School***- Not only is McEntire a 1st-team pick, he is also PHO pick for 2017-18 League Player of the Year. The Wildcat senior finished in the top five in scoring (19.5, 3rd), assist (4.3, 4th) and steals (5.6, 1st). And if you watch any of the local news stations on a nightly basis, then you probably saw one of Damani’s fast-break dunks as well his clutch shot-making ability. This young man gets it done on both ends of the court for Coach Steve Gentry.
G- Joey Edmonds/Wyoming High School- The Findlay commit stepped it up big time for a Cowboys squad that lost 3 starters from the previous season. The junior lead the league in scoring at 21.2ppg while also averaging 4.5 assist per game, good enough for 3rd in the league. Edmonds also shot 42% from the three and 88% from the line.
G- Mark Wise/Deer Park High School- It was an outstanding all-around season for the sophomore as he averaged 16.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assist and 2.9 steals per game. Mark is one of the top 2020 players in the state and Kent St. agreed by giving him his 1st D-I offer just yesterday.
G/W- Colin Shaw/Indian Hill High School- The Braves senior finished in the top 10 in points (17.4) and rebounds (8.5) in what was the final year of an outstanding career.
W/F- Evan Prater/Wyoming High School- This rising sophomore burst onto the scene with an outstanding season. Prater finished 4th in the league in scoring and assist with averages of 18.4 and 8.9 per game while 58% from the floor, which was good enough for 2nd best in the league. Low-major D-I programs will want to get in early on this young man.
F- Jack Cravaack/Madeira High School- The Purdue Football commit had a very good all-around season for the Mustangs. Cravaack finished in the top ten in points (8th), rebounds (6th), assist (9th), blocks (5th) and field-goal percentage (1st). That’s the definition of a stat-sheet stuffer.
F- Bryce Hunt/ Reading High School- Recently committed to University of Pikeville (KY), Hunt was the most dominant presence in the paint in the CHL this season. Hunt was one of only three players to average a double-double this season (12.7ppg, 11.7rpg) while also averaging a league best 5.0 blocks per game. He also finished 4th in field-goal percentage at 55.6%.
