NCHSAA East Regional Semis 1A &2A Preview
Rocky Mount Prep (24-0) vs. Voyager Academy (22-6): This matchup has a chance to be a good one, both teams have won a nice amount of games and they features a star player or two. Voyager Academy features Senior Wing Jordan Love is averaging 20 points and is a player that can make plays and defend from the wing spot. Rocky Mount Prep features Senior Guard Khalil Baker who has gotten so many buckets this year that even ‘‘ Uncle Drew’’ would be impressed, Baker is very under recruited and could see a nice rise in his recruitment the longer they play.
Pamlico County (20-5) vs Granville Central (15-11): Granville Central has looked to get things done by looking to their youth as they have been led by Freshman Guard Terence Harcum who is averaging 22 points, 4 assist and 4 rebounds a season. Pamlico County gets things done by committee and with upperclassmen as they features three players in double figures. Junior George Jones leads the team in scoring with 15 points a game, Junior Lamont Murray at 11 points a night and Senior Caleb Baron at 10 points a night.
Greene Central (24-6) vs. Farmville Central (22-3): These teams have met up twice this season with Greene Central winning both of the previous meetings, however with this is a Farmville squad that has been playing on a high level as of late so things could get interesting. Greene Central has the size advantage with Junior Imajae Dodd and Donte Johnson doing damage inside the paint. Farmville Central will once again look to their version of the Damian Lilliard and CJ McCollum in the Sophomore Justin Wright & Freshman Guard Terquavion Smith. This game will definitely sell out so you will want to make sure that you get in line early for this one or you may be locked outside.
Clinton (26-1) vs. Fairmont (29-1): This game is set to start up at 7 but you probably will want to get there about 5:30 or 6 if you want to make sure that you will get in the building. Fairmont will look to their high level defense and grit to take them over the top while Clinton will be led by Junior Forward Xavier Howard who has been playing well all year long.
