The Road to State: Muskogee vs Owasso
The road to state for Owasso started with Muskogee. However in the first quarter it looked like Muskogee might play spoilers as they were leading after one by a point. Owasso took over in the second quarter with some help from Muskogee’s CJ Parks getting in foul trouble. The Rams strolled after that holding a double-digit lead for a majority of the game. Muskogee made a run late, but Owasso won the game after strong second half where they grinded Muskogee down to a 56-49 win.
Josh Proctor 2018 Owasso Guard
The normal football star, Proctor turned in a performance that was impressive. He led the rams in scoring as was dominant on the offensive side of the ball. He showed no more rust from his injury earlier in the season as he was knocking down shots and attacking the basket hard. He also showed his defensive skills can translate from football. He had active hands on defense and forced a handful of turnovers when Owasso needed them most. The Ohio State football commit finished the game with a game-high 18 points.
Jake Thompson 2018 Owasso Guard
Thompson did what he does best. He played his role. Sometimes Owasso needs him to play the star and sometimes they just need him to be a role player. Tonight Thompson played the glue guy. He banged down low and got the tough buckets. He got rebounds and played solid defense throughout the night. Thomposn finished the game with 11 points.
CJ Parks 2018 Muskogee Forward
Parks was dominant for Muskogee against Owasso until he got in foul trouble. The Rams were having a tough time guarding him and were bailed out by a questionable offensive charge call from the refs. Parks picked up where he left off in the first half, he just could not get his buckets at the rim to fall. He was also active on the boards pulling down a majority of the Roughers rebounds. Parks finished the game with a team-high 14 points.
Brooks Haddock 2018 Muskogee Guard
Haddock had his typical game. The Rams guarded him tightly and forced the other Muskogee players to pick up their game. Haddock struggled to get open but when he did he hit the shot. Haddock is one of the best sharpshooters in the state, but Muskogee could not find ways to get him open. Haddock was also tasked with guarding a post and did a solid job as Owasso relied on their guards for a majority of their points. Haddock finished the game with 11 points on the night.
