Prospect Spotlight: Trent Dupuis (2020)
One of the state’s most talented young point guards, 6-foot Kaplan sophomore Trent Dupuis has a big year ahead.
And with his sophomore season starting to wind-down, we talked with Dupuis about his offseason plans, and though he’s undecided on which program he’ll play with, he’ll have a good opportunity no matter which he chooses.
Right now, it’s between Elfrid Payton Elite or Millsap Select 16U.
“I’m still deciding, but I’m going to be going to Washington this summer to work out for a couple weeks with a trainer,” said Dupuis.
“My goals are to just get better and to get my name out there. I don’t have much recruitment yet, I’m just looking for any school to recruit me”
Already a top-flight ball-handler, Dupuis says he’s also an adept passer and shooter. It’s his basketball IQ he’s working most to improve.
“Ball-handling and slashing, and then just finding my teammates when I need to are my strtengths. And if I’m left open, I can shoot as well,” said Dupuis.
“I need to work on my on-ball defense, and just learning the game more, mostly my basketball IQ.”
