Prospect Spotlight: Tyler George (2018)
As the 2017-18 basketball season moves along, some players continue to stand out because of their performances and talent. Tyler George has certainly separated himself from the crowd with a big season. He is a 6-2 senior shooting guard at Forest Hills Central High School. He has been a critical piece to his team’s 15-2 record so far this season. George is averaging 19.8ppg and 4apg.
Tyler George is a uniquely talented basketball player. He is a shooter who can fill the bucket either spotting up or off the dribble. George has unlimited range making him a constant threat to score. The intangibles often set him apart from the competition. George grew up in the gym and has learned the value of being a gym rat and how to make that time on court beneficial. He is a solid all around athlete as well. George is a multi sport athlete who also plays baseball and tennis. He is currently working to improve as a defender and to continue getting stronger. George is a pressure player who enjoys pressure and thrives in big moments. He looks forward to matchups with great teams and big name players.
Tyler George is a shining example of how far hard work and dedication can take an athlete. In addition to always being in the gym and working on his skill set, he also played AAU basketball for the Grand Rapids Storm. Playing with the Storm allowed George to face top notch competition and maximize his growth as a player. George also went to Powerstrength to increase his strength and endurance. He played a lot of 1-on-1 basketball which greatly improved his ability to face pressure and blow by defenders.
Tyler George has an eye on his future. He hopes to play college basketball and help his team win in any capacity that he can. Off the court, George just wants to find something he loves to do. He has been on visits to Saginaw Valley State University and is interested in attending school and playing basketball in the MIAA.
Tyler George is motivated to be successful on the court. He points to his teammates as his main source of motivation. George is appreciative of the work they have all put in and wants success for them as much as for himself. Tyler George has a future in college basketball.
