Jalen Hodge to Louisiana Monroe
O’Fallon 2018 point guard Jalen Hodge has made his choice. After receiving a lot of attention from D2 programs across the country the metro east point guard got the D1 offer he was waiting for and pulled the trigger. On Monday night Hodge announced that he will be headed to Louisiana Monroe after his official visit there over the weekend. Why were they his choice?
“They were 100% honest with the vision they had for me and the reason they wanted me.”
He spoke about how his game will translate in their system.
“They have a really good guard in Daishon from Wichita State that I can learn from and play well with in the backcourt in an up tempo offense.”
The O’Fallon point guard is a smooth floor general that always has his head up looking to make a play for himself or others. Hodge plays well in the open floor weaving in and out of the defense. In the half court he has a first step that allows him to get past the defense and to the rim where he is a quality layup maker scoring on acrobatic finishes consistently. Also likes to use floaters over big men. Streaky perimeter shooter, but he can definitely get hot from three. As a distributor he makes crisp passes to teammates. Defensively he is a force pressuring the ball and cutting passing lanes.
Hodge is the #38 overall prospect in the PrepHoopsIllinois 2018 Rankings and #10 point guard. He ran with Jets-Ramey United on the travel team circuit throughout his career.
