2018 Rankings Update: Richmond Wings
As we continue to break down the 2018 rankings update, we take a look at the wings out of the Richmond area.
Jarec Brown | 6’3” | George Wythe (#61 Overall)
Brown is committed to Eastern Arizona, a Division One JUCO and has a chance to be a division one prospect if he continues to grow and develop there. At 6’3”, he has great length, is an above average athlete and has really good fundamentals. He has a good motor as well, and before you know it he’ll have hung a double-double with 30 points and you won’t know how he did it.
Kameron Harris | 6’1” | Amelia Academy (#63 Overall)
One of the most athletic two guards in the state, Harris has put together some of the best highlights I have seen all season. He’s an extraordinary leaper who likes to make plays on both ends using his athleticism, but he also has characteristics of a combo guard who can handle in transition and is a streaky shooter. He’ll be playing his college basketball at D2 Notre Dame College.
David Ware | 6’5” | Caroline County (#77 Overall)
The first time we saw Ware play was with LBA Attack this summer, and we were impressed with his size and motor which allowed him to play inside-out. This year at Caroline, he did all that plus more on the way to being named Battlefield District Player of the Year. He’s athletic, rebounds on both ends, can shoot the ball from deep, handle in transition and is always in the right place at the right time.
Chris Dean | 6’4” | Deep Run (#78 Overall)
A shooter specialist, Dean can really light it up from deep. A lefty with good size, he can shoot it both off the catch and off the bounce, and he has a better handle than he’s given credit for. He can create his own shot and when he’s confident and letting it fly he can really pour it in from deep.
Darrell Purdie | 6’4” | George Wythe (#93 Overall)
Purdie is a versatile guy who can play multiple positions and do a number of different things on the floor. He can shoot it from behind the arc, he can put it on the floor, he has good size as a two guard and that allows him to guard multiple positions and rebound really well for his size. His versatility makes him an interesting prospect for the next level.
Justin Jasper | 6’2” | St. Chris (#107 Overall)
The University of Richmond football commit has had a solid senior season for St. Chris. He’s a leader on and off the court, he has a high motor on both ends of the floor and he’s a naturally gifted athlete that can play in transition. He’s a good slasher and an above average shooter as well.
Toreaz Settles | 6’4” | Hermitage (#120 Overall)
“Toe,” as he’s known by teammates and coaches, is the definition of versatile on the offensive end. He has a solid back to the basket game, can step out and knock down shots and he has a number of moves when attacking the basket. He’s stuck between positions but that also makes him a mismatch problem.
