Games of the Day: February 20th
As the season winds down, most teams only have a couple games left until tournament time. The last two weeks of the regular season are always a good time to make those final tune-ups, as well as celebrate seniors for their commitment to a program. Here are some of the best games for Tuesday, February 20th:
Clarkston vs Romulus
Romulus has been quietly one of the better Class A teams this year. They head to Clarkston, who’s a top-2 team in the state and perhaps the most talented. Foster Loyer has been on a tear lately and will look to post another quality game against a tough opponent in an effort to bolster his Mr. Basketball case late.
U-D Jesuit vs Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
Tonight we see continued action of the Catholic League playoff between some of the more talented teams in the conference. U-D Jesuit’s big three of Daniel Friday, Jalen Thomas and Zach Winston has been playing at a high level lately but will have a tough test with Lorne Bowman, Caden Preiskorn and company.
Flint Hamady vs Bridgeport
In what will be the biggest game in Tri-City area, a 13-3 Hamady squad will visit a hot Bridgeport team who enters the game 15-1. Bridgeport dropped their first game of the season to Lansing Everett, but since then they haven’t lost, picking up some quality wins over Beecher, Frankenmuth (twice) and Chicago North Lawndale.
Muskegon vs Jenison
This game features two teams in a tight race at the top of the OK-Black conference. Muskegon enters the game 13-3 and Jenison 13-4. Muskegon won the first matchup, so Jenison will look to get revenge.Players to watch in this game include Jacob Boonyasith, who’s one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state, Willie Shanks, who’s committed to Ferris State for football, and Deandre Carter.
