Prospect Spotlight: 2019 Reese Yothers-Jackson
Lake Gibson’s 6’8 Reese Yothers-Jackson is quietly getting the job done and helping his team advance to the playoffs. Reese can handle the ball well and has a smooth outside shot, I project that he can be a wing on the next level. He’s averaging 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game.
“Over the past summer, I got in the gym and worked hard on every aspect of my game. Personally, I wanted to get better and get offers this year. Team-wise going into the year my goal was to win a district championship, we worked hard and got there but couldn’t complete the job,” Yothers-Jackson stated.
Lake Gibson is 16-12 right now and was 4-3 in district contest including the district tournament. With only four teams in the district, they only had to win one game to make the playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, they will face a tough Deltona team.
“I believe we can win this game, it’ll be tough but we work hard and a team that plays us knows we come to play. Coach believes in us and we believe in ourselves so anything is possible,” Reese said.
Travel basketball has been a big part of Reese’s younger years. This summer will be no different, he says he’ll work to get stronger and add mass to his slender frame.
Reese said, “I plan to play with Tampa BayHawks this summer. I’m going to live in the gym and stay getting better and hopefully, I will have my choice of schools to pick from my senior year. They have some talented guys and coaches who will push me and I’m looking forward to it.”
