Maryland/DC Rankings Breakdown: 2018 Newcomers
PrepHoops Maryland recently updated the class of . Gathering a list of players and choosing which rank best fits the individual was an extremely difficult challenge, but we do our best to keep them updated every three months. Our recent update includes an expansion from the number of players ranked from 100 to 125. We love finding out about new players, and we’ve done so since our last update. Here we begin our breakdown series featuring five newcomers.
#19 | DIMA ZDOR | 6’8 F | SAINT JAMES
Rated as the top available front court prospect in Maryland, there isn’t much that Dima Zdor can’t do on a basketball court. At close to 6’9, he is a superb rim protector who can score both in the post and facing up on the perimeter.
#50 | GRADDY KANKU | 6’4 G | ARCHBISHOP CARROLL
Three things come to mind when first evaluating Graddy Kanku. He has long limbs. He is bouncy. He plays super hard. At close to 6’5, there aren’t many available players who can match his intriguing blend of size, athleticism and energy.
#52 | LELAN EACKLES | 6’6 F | ST. MARY’S RYKEN
Basketball runs in the family of Lelan Eackles, who’s father played in the NBA. The rangy, athletic, and versatile 6’6 wing is enjoying a solid senior campaign under his new Head Coach Walter Booth.
#60 | CAMERON RUCKER | 6’6 F | SPRINGBROOK
All Cameron Rucker does at Springbrook is produce and win games. The 6’6 forward is a versatile scorer who works very hard to rebound and defend.
#64 | MALIK MCKINNEY | 6’1 G | INDIAN CREEK
Malik McKinney has quietly flown under the radar as one of the best guards in the DMV region. The crafty and athletic 6’1 combo guard, who is being touted by a number of division two programs at the moment, is a steal for whoever lands his services.
