New Life vs Elevation Prep: 9 Names You Should Know
Elevation Prep Senior Guard Devian Smith: The Sandhills CC signee was The Player of the Game without a doubt, he doesn’t get rattled and never got sped up. He scored 26 points on the night but also did an outstanding job of finding teammates and coming up with a high amount of steals. His game should translate very well to Sandhills CC as he is a quick guard that can push the tempo as well as defend opposing guards at a high level.
New Life Christian Senior Wing Devatae Gathers: The play of the day goes to him as he threw down a poster dunk in transition. That play alone shows one of his best attributes but he also was solid rebounding the ball and creating plays for teammates.
New Life Christian Senior Wing Arshon King: Although he battled foul trouble pretty much all game long, he still found a way to impact the game when he was on the court. The deep ball was falling for him at a nice rate and he has a physique that is already college level, will be a nice JUCO pickup.
Elevation Prep Senior Forward Maceo Meade: Just take a quick look at his numbers and you can see what type of game he had. He scored 17 points and pulled down 16 rebounds all while only missing one field goal throughout the night. At 6’6 with a nice wingspan and athletic ability, he is a player that JUCO programs should be all over at this point.
New Life Sophomore Wing Reggie Raynor: Due to illness he was not at 100% but he made some plays and showed some flashes of how good he can be. His outside shooting is continuing to get better and you have to love the aggression he plays with when attacking the rim.
Elevation Prep Senior Wing Curtis Hoskins: One thing that you notice about him almost immediately is his desire to not be outworked. He fights hard on every possession, which helps not only his game but also provides extra opportunities for his squad, he pulled down 12 rebounds on the night.
New Life Christian Junior Latrell Jones: His game is fundamentally sound and he has the upper body strength to be able to play through all sorts of contact. One attribute that you have to like about him is his demeanor on the floor, he never seems to get too high or too low but stays on course and gets the job done.
Elevation Prep Senior Forward/Center Christopher Rodriguez: His game at this point is still in the development stage but he already has the height at 6’5 to make an impact. Offensively he didn’t have a great day but he made his money on the boards, constantly battling and pulling down a total of 9 rebounds.
New Life Christian Sophomore Guard Reggie Walton: This was his first game back due to a head injury that was suffered a while back. He is still getting back into his normal condition and feel for the game but he had some good moments and finished with 18 points on the night.
