Top Performers: Olympia at Edgewater
On Edgewater’s senior night, the Eagles were able to take care of business in a 66-39 home victory over Olympia on Thursday.
Senior Samford commit Robert Allen led his side with 16 points while Olympia earned an 18-point night from senior Markel Hudson.
Here are the top performers from the evening.
Robert Allen (Edgewater)
The senior leader and big man did his thing scoring all 16 of his points in the second half while adding 13 rebounds. He had some explosive dunks and really good takes to the basket. Allen is at his best when he attacks. For a 6’8″ forward, he’s one heck of a ballhandler.
Markel Hudson (Olympia)
At 6’5″, Hudson provides size and an inside presence for the Titans. He was the best thing going in this one with 18 points. He worked hard against a physical talent in Allen. Hudson is packed with energy.
Trevon Cason (Edgewater)
This was a nice showing from junior guard Trevon Cason. He had 12 points coming off the bench for senior night (he’s a regular starter). At 6’2″, Cason isn’t done growing and his jump shot continues to be consistent. If Cason focuses in, he’ll set himself up for a big senior year.
Jordan Grant (Olympia)
Undersized and underappreciated at 5’11”, Grant has been a mainstay for Olympia. He’s a player that won’t do anything over the top, but he’ll take care of his job. Grant added 11 points for the Titans with eight coming in the first half with Olympia hanging around.
Michael Eads (Edgewater)
Eads has as high of a ceiling as any 2020 guard in the state. At 6’5″, his length and point guard ability help him dish it around with ease and drive to the hoop as well. Eads had 10 points in this game. He’s a very unselfish player, but it is quite fun to see him attack.
