2019 Rankings Overview
Here is a look at the updated 2019 rankings with an overview of some of the new faces in top 10 and a look at some newcomers in the rankings.
CHANGES IN THE TOP 10
Wendell Moore retains the top spot in the 2019 rankings, the Cox Mill High School forward is among the best in the country and has offers from Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, Tennessee among other power programs.
Joey Baker has already committed for The Duke Blue Devils and is #2 in our rankings. High-flying point guard Jalen Lecque comes in at #3. Josh Nickelberry is back in the rankings at the #4 spot after transferring back home from Oak Hill Academy (Va.) to Northwood Temple in his hometown of Fayetteville. At the #5 spot is small forward Greg Gantt who is teammates with Joey Baker at Trinity Christian and recently picked up an offer from Florida.
The rest of the top 10 is Patrick Williams, a 6-foot-6 point guard at West Charlotte High School coming in at #6. The number 7 spot belongs to Jaelyn Withers, a Kevin Durant clone out of North Mecklenburg High School. #8 is stretch-four big man Brandon Stone of Christ School. #9 is recent Word of God Academy transfer Malik Johnson and round out the top 10 is Wesleyan Christian point guard Kobe Langley.
STOCK BOOSTERS
REN DYER-Unranked to 16th
One of the biggest risers of the season saw unranked small forward Ren Dyer of North Buncombe High School coming in at #16 in the latest rankings. The high-scoring Dyer recently picked up his first offer from Western Carolina University.
JOSH NICKELBERRY-New to rankings at #4
Nickelberry is a national prospect ranked by PrepHoops at a top 50 junior in the country. He has transferred back home from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia and is at Northwood Temple in Fayetteville now. He is a big-time athletic guard that can fill the stat sheet up.
JALEN BENAJAMIN-Ranked 28th up to 12th
Benjamin is the gel that holds Leesville Road High School together and has been scoring at a high rate all season. He and #1 2021 ranked Carter Whitt have helped Leesville Road to one of the best starts in school history and Benajamin is the son of former NC State guard Ishua Benjamin.
