Recruiting Report: 2018 Dereon Seabron
Our number 20th ranked player in Virginia, Dereon Seabron, has been putting up some mighty impressive numbers this year for Lake Taylor. He is currently the 2nd leader scorer in the Hampton Roads area averaging 22.3 points per game. Seabron brings tremendous athleticism to the wing position standing at 6’5. He plays good defense, his jump shot has improved much more and he can rebound well on both sides of the ball.
“I am just trying to do whatever it takes for my team to get a W, score, defend and rebound, just everything.”
If he can put some more muscle on him like he plans to, that could be a pivotal point in his overall game improving, “I just want to get bigger, add a little bit of muscle, speed and agility.”
His recruitment is heating up as he is one of the top unsigned seniors in the region and there is a possibility that he could prep next year he told us. He also said that he is hearing the most from, “Oklahoma State, North Texas, Towson and JMU.” He broke down all four of the schools for us.
Oklahoma State: “They came to a game last Tuesday, they are talking to me and just trying to get a bond. I have been talking to an assistant coach but they are going to try and get the head coach out here to see me.”
North Texas: “They keep in contact, they came to a couple workouts in the preseason and that is about it.”
Towson: “They are recruiting me very hard, like heavy and they want me to come there.”
JMU: “They are in the same boat as Towson, they want me to come there badly.”
We expect for a lot of more schools to get involved with the athletic wing, “I think a lot of schools are going to try and get involved later on after they see me play or see film.”
“I might make my decision after the season because schools are still trying to get in contact with me and recruit me and stuff.”
