Donovan Oliver to Lewis
Huge pick up for Lewis on Saturday night as they received a commitment from Kewanee 6’4” shooting guard Donovan Oliver. The wing told us why Lewis was his choice.
“Lewis was my choice because they were on me hard and I’m their number 1 priority. Why wouldn’t you go with a school that says you’re their number 1 priority?”
He spoke about what he will bring to Lewis.
“Scoring and defending!”
Oliver’s intensity really set the tone throughout the spring and summer for his Quad City Elite 17U team. He plays with a tremendous motor on both ends of the floor. The tough wing is a plus rebounder for a guard. Offensively he is best slashing to the hoop and attacking the rim in both the half court and in transition. He is like a running back that keeps pounding away at the defense. Finishes through contact well around the cup. Makes strong cuts away from the ball to receive passes going to the hoop. Defensively he is a tough and gritty perimeter defender.
He is the state’s #22 overall prospect and #7 shooting guard in the 2016 class.
