Ten Meaningful Games on 1/30
A monstrous Tuesday slate of games will untangle the mess atop numerous districts. Winning in the final week of January requires veteran leadership.
These ten games are certain to present a clearer picture in each race.
East Nashville (22-0) at Stratford
The Spartans of Stratford represent the last best hope at defeating East Nashville in the regular season. The Eagles are flying high and could trip up against a mighty deep Stratford team.
Jefferson County (20-5) at Carter (14-5)
Jefferson County is one of the first teams in the state to reach 20 wins. They are running away with a decent 2AAA pool.
Pickett County (15-5) at Monterey (21-3)
Monterey’s Wildcats (10-1) boast a 2.5 game lead over Pickett County (7-3). Their loss at Pickett County is the only slip up since Christmas. A win essentially assures Monterey of a #1 seed.
Oakland (15-7) at Riverdale (19-2)
Blackman (7-0) blew out Oakland (7-2) last week and buried Riverdale (6-1) earlier in the month. Second place in 7AAA is on the line.
Mt. Juliet (18-5) at Beech (13-13)
Though Beech sits 3-7 in 9AAA, the Buccaneers have a few talents. Mt. Juliet (8-2) needs to keep pace with Gallatin (8-2) atop the division.
West Creek (12-11) @ Clarksville NE (18-4)
The Northeast Eagles continue to pound 10AAA competition. Only one team challenged them. Can the sizable Coyote junior class put up a fight?
FACS (16-3) @ University School of Jackson (15-8)
FACS (7-2) is really the only team that can realistically catch USJ (8-1) in the DII Class A West chase.
Friendship Christian (17-8) @ Goodpasture (21-1)
Goodpasture has been smoothly sailing through the whole region. They know their plow horse can score and the offense rightfully revolves around Tripp McEachern.
Memphis Central (13-6) @ Whitehaven (12-3)
Playing in The Haven can be tough, but the Tigers need a win after Briarcrest Christian and Memphis East clipped them.
Mitchell (15-9) @ Melrose (12-7)
Both Memphis Mitchell (8-2) and Memphis Melrose (6-3) are chasing Hamilton (8-0). The fight for a second seed in 16 AA seems more plausible. Raleigh-Egypt is nipping on the heels of both with a 5-2 record.
