Clark vs. Sierra Vista HS, revisit recruiting Part II
Clark High School Recruits:
James Bridges: James is a 6-5″ solid 3 point sniper and all around high IQ player. He was groomed early in his career to play smart basketball. He has good handles, above average finishing at the rim, great shooting and game awareness. He is not the fastest player on the team but he makes up for it by playing smarter than others. In all sports you want to be efficient with your energy and James does that. James is the type of player that will always find a roster spot due to the game’s need for shooters. Needs work in: defense has to improve. He must be able to defend the opposite player for his position in college.
Frankie Collins: Frankie is a Freshman PG at 6-0″ is already getting some serious interest from schools. While not as big as Greg, he runs the 1 extremely confident and has a great catch and shoot 3 pointer. He sees the floor well and has good finishing layups at the rim. Appears to be good with both hands on layups. Needs work in: At this point, experience will help him most.
Adam Forbes: Adam is likely an NAIA player. He is 6-6″ hustles and does all of the little stuff. He isn’t that strong of a scoring threat within this group but he has major competition for shots. He is a typical hard working player coaches love but don’t directly recruit at times. He takes a charge almost every game and rebounds extremely hard. One thing of note is he seems to know his role and doesn’t complain at all. Needs work in: Offensive game needs work.
Sierra Vista High School recruits:
Maka Ellis: Maka stands at 6-7″ and plays the wing position and will play ball at Columbia. He can score in bunches and just gets it done. One things about him is he always wants the ball in the big moment. Excellent shooter off the catch and from the dribble. He uses ball screens very well to create separation. Needs work in: Off ball movement. Setting screens and using away screens better.
David Howard: 6-1″ guard who can shoot the ball off the catch both from deep and mid-range. Good finisher at the rim. He helps fill in the points at Vista at one of the extra guard positions. He is a very hard worker and has a quick release on his shot. Needs work in: Better finishing game at the rim. Add a floater and use of off hand more.
