Recruiting Report: Trevon Ellis (2020)
Stivers sophomore Trevon Ellis (2020) has had a strong start of the season. One of the top assist leaders in the Dayton City League, Ellis has emerged as a young star for a young Tigers team looking to move forward. I was able to talk to Trevon and talked about the season thus far.
The season has gone well for Stivers thus far. Currently sitting at 7-7 in the City League the Young Tigers are mostly led by sophomores and juniors and have been growing together. Inconsistency has been an issue for Stivers. After starting the season 4-0, the Tigers have lost 7 of 10 and struggled. Ellis individually has gotten better as the season has progressed. Specifically, his shooting and leadership has improved. His consistency on his shooting touch still needs improvement as well as being more active on defense.
Leadership is nothing new for Ellis as he has always been a floor general since he started playing basketball in 2nd grade. He does not feel any additional pressure to lead the Tigers even though there are only 3 seniors on the roster. Ellis shows great patience on the offensive end and is a true floor general. Trevon sees himself and his teammates playing deep in the state tournament in the coming years. With multiple sophomores on roster and many of them getting quality minutes Stivers definitely has potential to be a dark horse in the coming years.
Right now, Trevon is receiving interest from multiple D2 schools, including Central State University. He has also received interest from Liberty University at the Division I level.
