If you want to see star power, this may be the place to start. Watts is as explosive as they come and can put on a show offensively. He is great fundamentally with his shot including a quick release that will have the ball in the bottom net at the blink of an eye. Watts has in the gym range and will be a front runner in next seasons Mr. Basketball race. Jackson is a versatile athlete that can run the floor and finish with ferociousness. His 6-7 frame and long arms helps him rebound and block shots with the best in the 2020 class. Watts is currently averaging 27.5ppg while Jackson is putting up 19ppg.
WARREN DE LA SALLE
Justin Fischer (2018, PG) and Luke Pfromm (2018, F)
Who wouldn’t want two of the best leaders in Michigan on the same team? Fischer is an efficient point guard who can play at any pace. He always seems to be comfortable on the court and is a great decision maker at the lead guard spot. Fischer has an instinct as to when his team needs a bucket, and he certainly has the ability to hunt for a good look at the rim. Pfromm is a stellar athlete who provides versatility by being able to play three positions. He’s an exceptional rebounder and loves to play with and through contact. Pfromm has proven his athletic prowess by becoming one of the top two sport stars in Michigan.
CLARKSTON
Foster Loyer (2018, PG) and Taylor Currie (2018, C)
Loyer is an extremely efficient and dynamic point guard. He plays close to mistake free basketball and is the type of player who makes teammates better. He does all the little things to help his team win, but also scores with the best in the state. Currie is a near perfect compliment to Loyer. He’s an outside-in post player who can shoot as good as any other center in Michigan. He rebounds well and has an extremely high basketball IQ.
SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN
Bryce Washington (2018, SG) and Harlond Beverly (2019, CG)
This is a potent backcourt. Washington is a tested veteran and leader who inspires teammates. He can score from multiple levels and has a good first step. Washington is solid defensively and is like a coach on the floor, which is a very valuable commodity. Beverly is a hot shooting junior who has seen incredible growth to his game over the last two years. He is a quick and shifty athlete who can always find or create a look at the basket. Next season, we will be talking about Beverly being one of the top shooters in Michigan.
DETROIT LOYOLA
Myron Gardner (2019, SF) and Cam Hudson (2019, PG)
Every coach would like to build around two kids who play with a love for the game like these two. Gardner is a good athlete who can score at multiple levels. He’s a smooth small forward who gets free and finds looks at the basket. Gardner has a good body build and size for his position, which can create matchup nightmares for opponents. Hudson is a great point guard to pair with Gardner. He plays with a team first mentality and will deliver the ball to Gardner on a string. Hudson can create open space for himself and for Gardner with his physical play. He will play through contact and finish or dish off for the assist.
