Key Game to Start The New Year
The year 2018 is here, this article is a look at a key game to start the new year.
Providence Day at Christ School-This is a key match-up that we could see in the NCISAA 3-A playoffs later in the year. Weather is always a key factor in Asheville as to if this game even happens or not. As of right now, the weather is supposed to be cold but not any precipitation which would allow the game to go on as planned.
Providence Day will bring it’s three-headed monster to the mountains’ of North Carolina to take on Christ Schools’ big three of their own. Kansas signee Devon Dotson had a strong Chick-Fil-A Classic and will look to keep it rolling for The Chargers. 2018 unsigned senior Isaac Suffren was named to the all-tournament team at The Chick-Fil-A after averaging almost 25 points per game. Trey Wertz, a Santa Clara signee was also named to the all-tournament team and is known as one of the best shooters in the state.
Christ School played over the holidays in the John Wall Holiday Invitational in Raleigh. The Greenies won their first game of the event against Greene Central High School but lost their next two. Falling to Garner Magnet High School and Broughton High School.
Jalen Lecque, one of the top prospects in the country, will lead The Greenies. He is a super-athletic point guard who had coaching staffs from Duke, NC State and North Carolina in to see his game at The John Wall.
2019 big man Brandon Stone has offers from Pitt, South Carolina and St. Joe’s. He is a skilled four-man that can handle the ball and can shoot it from deep.
2020 6’11 forward Justice Ajogbor may be the most talented of all of the big men for Christ School and he has picked up interest from North Carolina as of late. He picked up offers from five Power Five conference schools over the summer and is yet to see his full potential.
