Beach Ball Classic Day 3
Day 3 of the Beach Ball Classic was underway yesterday at The Myrtle Beach Convention Center and the level of play was high again for the third day in a row.
Bishop Gorman (NV) vs Lone Peak (UT)
Bishop Gorman led by 21 points from 2021 Will McClendon secured the win over Lone Peak by a score of 66-57. McClendon shot 4 of 8 from three-point land en route to his game-high 21 points. The freshman has offers from Washington, Pepperdine and UNLV. University of Washington signee Jamal Bey had 17 points in the win for Bishop Gorman. Lone Peak was led by Chantry Ross with 23 points while making four 3-pointers, and Max Brenchley, a 6-foot-5 senior who chipped in 17 points.
Spartanburg Day (SC) vs Albany Academy (NY)
2018 guard Chandler Lindsey continues to show that he is a legitimate Division One guard. He scored 23 points for Spartanburg Day in a win over Albany Academy. Lindsey has taken over the scoring column for Spartanburg Day with the absence of Zion Williamson who is nursing a foot injury. 6-foot-5 senior forward Matthew Brown scored 15 points in the win. Albany Academy was led by Austin Mahoney with 20 points on the day.
Imhotep Charter (PA) vs Dematha (MD)
Dematha (MD) with the win over defending champion Imhotep Charter (PA) in the late afternoon game at The Beach Ball Classic. Dematha got 21 points from 2019 guard Justin Moore who has offers from Villanova, Maryland, Notre Dame, Xavier, Louisville, Penn State, Old Dominion, Wake Forest and Towson. Moore can score it from anywhere, plays well off the ball, showed ability to create off dribble.
Cox Mill (NC) vs Clark (NC)
2019 wing Wendell Moore scored 31 points for Cox Mill in a win over Clark (NV), UNC recruit Rechon Black added another solid stat-stuffing game for The Chargers. Cox Mill advances to take on Long Island Lutheran tonight at 7:30.
