Lambert Holiday Classic Day 1 Top Performers (Part 2)
Jason McKie (Walton)-
Playing point for the Raiders, McKie also had a nice outing on Thursday. McKie may be small, but he is extremely quick and never afraid. He hit some big shots to help keep Walton in the game and made sharp passes to set up his teammates. McKie understands when to get to the basket or when it is best to pull-up, resulting in an efficient offensive performance. He ended up putting together a solid stat line of 15 points and 8 assists in the Raiders’ thrilling game against Lambert.
Julian Lynch (Starr’s Mill)-
Starr’s Mill’s game against DCA was fairly low-scoring in the 1st half before picking up in the 2nd, but Lynch was consistent in his offensive contributions throughout. Although his team lost, Lynch was important in keeping the game close, finishing with 17 points. These points came in a variety of ways; Lynch hit some tough, contested jumpers and was active cutting for chances near the basket. With Nate Allison out, Lynch will have to keep producing for the Panthers.
Damon Stoudamire (Lambert)-
Stoudamire is another solid backcourt player for the Longhorns to go along with Ganote, McIlwain, and Deckard. He was one of 3 Lambert players to finish with 20+ points, going for 23 points with 3 made 3’s. He is a smooth scorer who can get it done on all 3 levels and plays with a lot of confidence. Stoudamire always stays ready on the perimeter and makes his point guard happy when he finds him. He is an important piece to this explosive offense.
Luke Chism (Dawson Christian)-
I have become accustomed to Chism playing well when I watch him, and last Thursday was no different. He is always effective in transition with his soft touch, but he has also gotten better drawing and absorbing contact at the basket. Chism has the ball in his hands a lot for DCA but knows how to balance his scoring opportunities with getting his teammates involved. He came up big for DCA with 21 points and 4 assists in their win over Starr’s Mill.
Nahiem Alleyne (Mountain View)-
Spencer Rodgers wasn’t the only Mountain View player who played well against Choctaw. Alleyne brought a combination of energy and athleticism to the game that resulted in production throughout. Once Rodgers cooled down in the 2nd half, Alleyne stepped up and finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds. He is very good around the rim with his strong lefty frame but will also mix in some mid-range jumpers. Alleyne’s active style is always great to have.
