Recruiting Report: Jaylen Sebree (2018)
Jaylen Sebree decided to take a prep season with one of the best programs there is at IMG.
The 6’7″, 195-pounder currently has offers from Xavier, Maryland, UMass, Louisville, Virginia Tech, UCF, Townson, Memphis and Western Kentucky.
Sebree played previously at Christian County High in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Here’s what he said he learned the most this past season.
“The thing I learned the most this past season is to always play hard each and every time I step on the court, either practice or a game,” Sebree told Prep Hoops Florida. “The thing I am most proud of is that I see myself getting better each and every day and being a great teammate on the floor. My exceptions for this season at IMG are to win the championship at the end of the year and not lose one home game.”
For IMG post grad, Sebree is fortunate to play with some highly gifted Division I prospects in Anfernee Simons, Eric Ayala, Jayden Hardaway and others.
“Playing with a high major kid like Anfernee is great because I can see what’s it like to play against him in practice and also to play with him in games as a teammate,” Sebree said. “He is really good and I think he makes me better every time we go against each other in practice. It’s really a special opportunity to play with someone with his skill set.”
For the past three years, Sebree has played for the Louisville Magic. He says he’s grateful for the opportunity to play in some of the best tournaments and against some of the top players in the country.
Starting his basketball career at age 5, he pointed to his biggest strengths as his attack on the fast break, shot, ball handling, blocking and passing ability. He says he’s aiming to improve everything in his game to further develop his skills.
Sebree can fit in at the wing and in many situations play the four position in college in smaller lineups. He’s a highly gifted shooter who can make things happen on his own and get others involved early and often. This post grad season at IMG will only further his development and knowledge of the game.
