Ten Games to Watch
Monday 12/18
Pickett County vs. Livingston Academy
Senior Dawson Abbott and Pickett County are off to a nice start. Livingston Academy is ready to meet that challenge head on.
Hamilton @ Ridgeway
Ridgeway has a really solid team with Antonio Thomas, Brandon Mason, Antwan Beans, and Will Wilson. The depth is impressive and only a couple teams in the state have as many talented guards. Hamilton happens to be one of them (Jordan Johnson, Kevon McMahon, Martrell Brooks).
Tuesday 12/19
Union City vs. Peabody
The Golden Tornados of Union City might not ever have a player as college-ready as Parker Stewart (Pitt), but the year after he graduated the team is still really, really tough out in Obion County. Peabody’s 2019 guard Jadarius Harris (Peabody) will be a tough mark for UCHS.
Wednesday 12/20
Covington Catholic (KY) vs. Ensworth
CovCath, as they are affectionately known, has one of its best teams ever. PrepHoopsKY #1 C.J. Fredrick (Iowa signed), Jake Walter (Xavier signed), and Aiden Ruthsatz (Christian Brothers commit) lead the way. CovCath juniors Jack Davin and Nick Thelan provide an uncommon depth to the northern Kentucky private school. Ensworth is getting a heavy helping of Warren Zager this season.
Thursday 12/21
Dyer County vs. Perry County Central (KY)
It is always nice to see Tennessee teams compete against the Bluegrass squads. Dyer County will probably enter this battle undefeated.
McCallie vs. South Aiken (SC)
McCallie won their first 10 games, but South Aiken provides a unique challenge. Their leading scorer, Melvin McKie will be electric in the matchup.
Sullivan East @ Daniel Boone
The Tuesday after Thanksgiving Daniel Boone dispatched of Sullivan East 81-66. The Patriots will be hungry for revenge.
Oakland vs. Brentwood Academy
Two high-major guards square off with Keishawn Davison (Middle Tennessee verbal) and Darius Garland (Vandy signed) pitted head-to-head. Both are deserving of the shine. This game will be a part of the Brandan Wright Classic.
Knoxville Webb @ Knoxville West
Webb will probably enter this game undefeated. It will never get easier for West High Head Coach Chris Kessler to motivate his West Rebels.
Raleigh-Egypt vs. Arlington
For two teams underperforming Friday’s matchup presents a winnable game. Both teams have D1 prospects. Arlington is lead by PrepHoops.com/Tennesse #11 Garrett Golday (Tennessee Tech signee), while Raleigh-Egypt runs out 2-3 D1 prospects: Deovaunta Williams, Jadakiss Williams, Roger McFarlane.
