Prospect Spotlight: Robin Perry (2018)
2018 Oak Ridge guard Robin Perry doesn’t get a lot of love.
No offers have come yet for the senior, who spent the summer with Nike South Beach and has been putting up solid numbers thus far this season.
The 6’4″, 197-pounder scored a team-high 18 points in a 64-61 win over Orlando Christian Prep on Dec. 2.
He called last season one that was full of ups and downs, but he learned that no matter who is on your team that it is important to play your game and never lose sight of what’s in store for you.
Perry says he wants to win a state and a national title. The possibilities are endless for this group with seniors Emmitt Williams, Antwann Jones and Damon Harge Jr. at the forefront. The Pioneers also have juniors Niven Glover (returns in January) and Emmanuel Adedoyin.
“It’s an honor to play with guys like those they all have special talents, especially when you know that when they play it takes some pressure off of you and your team,” Perry told Prep Hoops Florida. “Also, they are really good guys on and off the court couldn’t ask for any better teammates. Hoping me and my guys can hang that banner up.”
Perry played all the EYBL sessions for Nike South Beach this summer, his first on the big stage. He earned interest from TCU from his time there.
He says his ball handling, rebounding, IQ and ability to shoot off the dribble have improved the most over the last year. He’s aiming to become faster and have more lateral quickness.
Perry is a very solid all-around player. He’s benefiting from having so many talented athletes around him, but most importantly he’s making things happen. Look for Perry to thrive this season as Oak Ridge attends many big tournaments, including the City of Palms Classic next week.
