Recruiting Update: Kymani Dunham (2018)
At 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds, Kymani Dunham is a mountain man type of presence down low.
When you assess the Georgia native’s evolution as a skilled four with an evolving arsenal of post moves and feathery touch, you find immediate impact mid major potential.
Since decommitting from College of Charleston and growing both in his tactical game and at the rim explosiveness, Dunham has developed the look of a sleeper.
Now entertaining a national schedule on the post-grad circuit and applying physical defense on taller forwards and centers, Dunham is an intriguing prospect with upside.
He recently picked up back to back offers from Troy and Kennesaw State. As Dunham continues to execute with his refined post game and is showcased in mainstream events while at Believe Prep Academy (TN), his stock could heighten.
Troy is willing to take Dunham as early as the second semester of the 2017-18 campaign, albeit all signs point to Dunham waiting out his decision carefully.
PH: Having never before played together, you guys got off to a rocky start. After a signature win over Montverde Academy (FL) and then a win against Charlotte Basketball Academy, your BPA team is starting to play to its capabilities. What’s been key to finding a rhythm and sustaining it?
KD: As a team, we are learning each other’s strengths and beginning to play well together. The team chemistry is coming along and will only strengthen as the season continues.
PH: How would you characterize your best attributes as a player? How do you see these attributes as translatable to the next level?
KD: Some of my key attributes as a player are my offensive skills, my size, and my ability to be a versatile player. I hope that when I take my game to the next level I can build on these skills to become a better player.
ZS: When do you envision yourself picking a school and which factors will be most pivotal in your college decision?
KD: I will make a decision in March-April. For me, the deciding factors will be how well I fit in with the team and how comfortable I feel with the college and coaches.
