10 Best: West Johnston vs Cape Fear HS
Cape Fear traveled to West Johnston on Thursday night for a rematch against a team that they had already defeated by a decent amount. Once the game began you could see that Cape Fear had game planned greatly and they took control of the game without ever looking back. The lead would grow to over 20 Points in the 2nd half and although West Johnston would make a run to cut the lead. The lead would never drop under double digits and Cape Fear would cruise to a well-earned win over West Johnston.
Cape Fear HS Senior Forward Myron Williams: Myron got off to a slow start scoring wise but stayed active on the boards and played his role. During the second half he scored with his back to the basket at a nice rate as well as knocking down some jumpers.
Cape Fear HS Senior Point Guard Kevin McLaughlin: Kevin is a floor general that can get his own offense going but also sets up teammates well. His most impressive attribute was how well he played defense, he caused major problems and came up with steals.
Cape Fear HS Senior Wing Shaq Angel: Shaq led the team in scoring with 18 points, he is a slasher type of player with nice athletic ability. He has solid height at 6’3/6’4 for a next level wing and his jumper is constantly improving.
Cape Fear HS Senior Guard Noah Horne: He is a knock down shooter that came off the bench and gave the team a much needed spark. He scored 6 quick points in the 1st quarter and had a big time block on the defensive end.
Cape Fear HS Senior Guard Michael Baldwin: Another player that provided a nice spark off the bench to help the team go on a run. He understands his role and showed a nice floater and the ability to get into the gaps of the defense.
Cape Fear HS Sophomore Guard Marquail James: He’s young but has a very nice amount of potential and size for a guard. He can handle the ball very well and will be a very dangerous player before it’s all said and done.
Cape Fear HS Junior Forward Jaylen Hudson: Jaylen provides a nice inside presence with the second unit that they needed. He blocks shots, rebounds the ball well and finishes plays inside, he is still raw offensively but he plays the game with passion and energy.
West Johnston Senior Guard Andrik Cole: Andrik does just about everything for his squad: he rebounds, facilitates, rebounds and defends. Scoring wise he didn’t have his best day but he found ways to impact the game.
West Johnston Senior Forward Jalin Graham: Jalin has a very high motor and was very active on the boards. He is the type of player that gets the entire team excited to play and possess a strong desire to win.
West Johnston Senior Forward Jakim Graham: The team looks to team for a high amount of their offense, during the 1st half he was quiet but turned it up in the second half. He can shoot the deep ball, finish above the rim, and defends multiple positions.
