Big Week for WNC Hoops
A big week ahead for WNC teams this week as some of the regions’ strongest programs make their way to the mountains of North Carolina to take on mountain area teams.
Carolina Day at Spartanburg Day-The Wildcats of Carolina Day travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina on Tuesday, November 28th with a matchup against the nation’s #2 recruit Zion Williamson and Spartanburg Day. The Wildcats are 0-2 so far this season and are led by 2018 point guard Tai Giger, 2019’s Devin and D’Angelo Elliott and 2020 Lee Langstaff.
Asheville Christian Academy vs Legacy Charter-The 6-1 Lions host Legacy Charter of Greenville, South Carolina on Friday December 1st who feature Wake Forest signee Sharone Wright Jr., 2019 Donta King, 2018 Raymond Williams, and 2018 Dontrell Shuler. Asheville Christian is led by 2019 Caleb Mills and Raishaun Brown. This is a huge non-conference game for Asheville Christian as they prepare for a tough conference schedule.
This Saturday Greensboro Day and Clemson signee John Newman come to town to tangle with the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. Greensboro Day head coach Freddy Johnson recently became a 1,000 win coach with The Bengals victory over Vance High School this weekend. One of the perennial top programs in the state, Greensboro Day is looking to win their third NCISAA state championship in the past 4 years.
Legacy Charter vs Christ School-The BJ Jackson coached Lions of Legacy Charter come to Christ School for a matchup on Tuesday. This is a big win game for Christ School as they are off to a 3-4 record so far this season and are looking to get back on the winning side of things.
A big game from Brandon Stone will be key and Justice Ajogbor to try and get some points with Legacy Charter not being as big on the inside.
