CONFERENCE PREVIEW: Eastern Kansas League
CONFERENCE PREVIEW: Eastern Kansas League
The Eastern Kansas League (EKL) has earned a reputation as one of the premier leagues in high school athletics in all of the midwest, producing high level teams and players.
Although the favorites, Miege and Blue Valley Northwest, each graduated key players, both programs are heavy favorites to earn a spot atop the league race this season. Each program returns multiple Division I prospects and high level players surrounding them.
But, as last season showed, don’t count out the other teams. St. Thomas Aquinas won the league last season, and while they suffered heavy losses to graduation, the Saints proved anything can happen in the EKL.
In a testament to the leagues prowess, six players have either committed to Division I programs or hold Division I offers.
