The Battle of Carolina’s Wrap Up (Day One)
The first annual Battle of the Carolinas was held at Christ School this past weekend featuring Porter Guad, Christ School, Greensboro Day, York Prep and Greenfield School.
Some of the top talent in the Carolina’s was on hand to play in the event featuring North Carolina signee Coby White, Clemson signee John Newman, Vanderbilt signee Aaron Neysmith, 2019 point guard Josiah James, 2019 point guard Jalen Lecque, Georgia Southern commit Elijah McCadden, 2019 forward Brandon Stone, 2020 forward Justice Ajogbor, Yale signee Jake Lanford & Senior Vincent Cole from York Prep.
The first game of the tournament was between Christ School and Greensburg Day. Greensboro Day came into the game with a 4-0 record and Christ School was 1-1. The game was never really close as Greensboro Day’s defense was just too much for the Christ School offense. The Bengals hailed one of the top ranked 2019 guards Jalen Lecque to only 10 points. A balanced attack on offense end helped the Bengals secure the win for Greensboro Day. Clemson recruit John Newman scored 14 points in the win. Senior guard Tripp Greene scored 12 points showing his shooting ability from deep.
A bright spot for Christ School was the play of big man Brandon Stone (14 points & 8 rebounds) and forward Justice Ajogbor (6 points and 8 rebounds).

Rebounds: Greensboro Day – Fowler 8; Christ School – Stone 8.
In the second game of the night, Porter Gaud (SC) took on Greenfield School. Vanderbilt signee Aaron Nesmith (22 points) and Yale signee Jake Lanford (26 points) was too much for Greenfield School & North Carolina signee Coby White. The ultra athletic guard scored 31 points in the loss.
Porter Gaud (SC) also features 2019 point guard Josiah James, ranked number one in the class by Prep Hoops South Carolina for 2019.
