Prep Hoops SC enjoyed all the action here today from the upstate in Greenville, SC. WestRidge Academy vs Heritage Academy went right down to the wire.
Sam Norton (2018) scored 9 of first 10 points for Heritage Academy in the game. Norton connected on 3 three pointers to start the game. Jakobe Dill (2018) helped Heritage Academy improve the lead to 27-20 with 2:42 in the first half on a great pass in transition to Kyle Rawson.
WestRidge Academy (Kernersville, NC) went on a 8-0 run to finish the first half with the lead at 28-27. Isaac Lecompte (2018) kept the short handed Golden Knights in the game all night long. Lecompte a native of Delaware will look to enroll into a junior college at the semester according to Head Coach Antonio Lowe.
The game would go back and forth all throughout the second half when Dill connected on a three pointer to make the lead 46-44 with 7:05 left in the game. Steven Randle (2018) connected on a basket with 17.1 seconds left to give the Golden Knights a 63-61 lead. After a timeout with 10 seconds left on the clock, Rawson connected on a 3 pointer at the buzzer to give Heritage Christian a 64-63 victory.
Heritage Academy Head Coach Cody Hopkins picked up his first win for the Hilton Head, SC program. Hopkins informed Prep Hoops SC that his program will be hosting a event over Martin Luther King Weekend 2018 in Hilton Head for the Grind Session.
WestRidge Academy scoring – Issac Lecompte 25 points, Steven Randle 14 points 12 rebounds, Javarzia Belton 5 points, 10 rebounds.
The Golden Knights were playing without Caleb Burgess and Carlos Nuttry for discipline reasons.
