2020 Edgewater G Michael Eads talks upcoming season, CP25 ball and more
He may be young, but 2020 Edgewater guard Michael Eads is proving his worth.
The 6’5″, 200-pounder has no offers or interest yet. However, he has instincts that you can’t coach along with a bright basketball IQ.
“What I learned from the past season was that I had to get more explosive and quicker in order to keep up with quicker guards. My jump shot has gotten a lot better,” Eads told Prep Hoops Florida. “My role for this season at Edgewater is to be a leader, get my teammates involved and be a scorer.”
Eads spent this summer with Team CP25, his first with the program. He says he focused on improving his game and shedding some weight so he can be a quicker guard.
“CP25 is a really good program that has been teaching and improving my game ever since I’ve been playing for them,” he said.
Starting his basketball life at age 5, Eads pointed to his ability to get to the basket, his shooting, IQ and capability to make players around him better as his biggest strengths.
Only a sophomore, Eads is destined to impress for an Edgewater group that finished as the Class 7A state runner-up last season (the Eagles are now in 8A). Guard Anfernee Simons is now at IMG doing a post grad year, but the Eagles are poised to be a solid team once again in 7A. Eads will have a breakout season.
