The Basketball Interview with Emmanuel Akot
Sioux Falls Washington big Emmanuel Akot loves the game of basketball and talked about his favorite hoops experiences with PHD today.
At your school, what is your favorite part or parts about game days in terms of the routine leading up to the game?
EA: My favorite part about game day is dressing up and representing our basketball team with class
What makes your crowd unique? What is a memorable thing that they’ve done that you will always remember?
EA: Our Crowd and student section are very supportive they’re into the game and their always looking after us,One of my favorite memories has to be when I was a freshman and we played Lincoln and We ended up upsetting them and our student section Ran into the court and chanted “this is our house ”
Who is the toughest player that you have faced in your career?
EA: Toughest player I can recall watching in Minnesota well have to be Ishmael El-Amin from Hopkins he was very good
Who is your biggest rival and what about them makes the rivalry both heated and memorable?
EA: My biggest rival has to be my friend Zach Heins every time I go up against him I have to bring my a game because it’s always going to be heated and physical when we play each other.
Who is your favorite basketball player in the world and why?
EA: KD is my favorite basketball player because I love his style and the way he plays the game. Almost every big men wants to be like KD
All basketball players love gear. What brand of gear or type of gear are you partial to?
EA: My favorite gear is Under Armour
What is your favorite venue to play basketball in that you’ve played in?
EA: My favorite venue would have to be the YMCA because me and a couple of my friends call up people and tell them to pull up at the Y so we can run 5s all day
What court that you haven’t played on would you dream of playing on?
EA: I haven’t played at the Denny Premier Center But I’ll get a chance to this year
Explain the relationship varsity players have at your school with youth players?
EA: The relationship us varsity players have with the younger players is alright. Us upperclassmen do a great job at making sure that they’re always at lifting and open gym and making sure they get to class on time as well.
Best coaching advice you’ve received is what and who was it from?
EA: Basketball is just a sport you can’t let that define who you are as a person because at the end of the day it all comes down how you treat others – Coach Nelson and Coach Reck
Who is your basketball influence?
EA: My basketball influence well have to be myself because I’m always pushing myself to outwork others and go hard all the time
NBA. Who is your team?
EA: My favorite NBA team has to be the Bulls.
